In Memory of Mom and The Power of Family
Thank you to everyone who contributed love
in the form of time, patience, planning, phone calls, plane trips, money, doing chores,
and sharing your home.
Along the way, our big family learned much about this season of life
and about ourselves under stress.
We were challenged by her changes
and by making difficult decisions.
Each family member’s contribution made a difference
in how Mom’s story played out.
My last memory with her is a joyful one—
a springtime drive in Oklahoma,
windows rolled down,
radio playing,
and enjoying some ice cream.
It is because of Mom’s transition,
and the journey we walked as a family,
that I’m choosing to walk with you and your family
as you navigate this part of your story.
